Nothing like a cup of lemonade on a hot afternoon!🍹

Stumbled across this great find of Peg + Cat book at the library! I watched the tv series previously, just that the tv series was rather fast-paced and for younger children they may not be able to catch up with the pace or may require further explanation. (Peg + Cat is about this funny little girl and her cat trying to solve math problems.)

I was delighted when I found this book at the library. 📚 This book is about Peg + Cat going into business to sell lemonade for marbles. They had to reduce the price from 10 marbles to 5 to eventually 2 marbles because the price was too high. When they were about to make their sale, they forgot about the cups and had to go round trading cookies for cups. The concept of place value and graphing is introduced (2 is much less than 20 and 200 is much more than 20). And finally when they are all ready, it began to rain! ☔️ Eventually, they made lemonade free for everyone! And in so doing, out of goodwill, Ramone gave Peg a special red marble.

When I dished out the ingredients to make lemonade (1) lemons 🍋 (2) water💧 (3) sugar or honey 🍯 , J was so excited! The mixing of the lemonade, the proportion of getting the perfect sour-sweet mix and tasting it every now and then made the session longer than I thought it would, which was great!
