6 interactive ways to learn 火 🔥 and 水 💦

Due to the COVID-19 here in SG and around the globe, we have been staying at home! These activities are mostly low prep (except for number 6). Read on to find out more!

Here are 6 interactive ways we did to learn 火🔥 and 水💦:

1) Read a book on firefighting!

Book below is 乐乐和佳佳 参观消防局. Preparation below are the items for activities 1-3.

2) Write the word 火 with red paint

3) Use the blue water 水 to put the fire out!

4) Hide 8 火 cards around the house and using 8 水 cards to put out the “fire” out around the house

5) Painting water 水 on 火 cards. This is another way to use water to put out the fire !

6) Making a volcano! 火山🌋

Simple prep items:

- moulding clay (brown or red)

- food dye (red dye ran out so I used blue here - quite a good effect as well don’t you think?)

- container as the volcano (mine had a cap so that I could reuse again and that’s the reason why we didn’t put the clay till the top of the volcano - so that we can cover and play and play again)

- baking soda

- vinegar - aluminium foil for effect as well as for fast transfer of the volcano

- box to contain all the foam

- disposable chopstick to stir the food dye in the vinegar

- dinosaur toys 🦕 🦖
